One Millionth Object Pops Out of Toaster
2008-05-28 18:22
by Ken Arneson

Congrats to SF Yanks, who created object #1,000,000 in the Fairpole system, a comment on Bronx Banter:

I wouldn't mind if Arod started being MVPlike again....the good ol days.

Just missing was Andrew Shimmin, who created object #999,999, a comment on Dodger Thoughts that read:

250- La la la la la; I'm not listening. . .

How utterly appropriate...

God, I wonder how many of those comments I've read? Maybe half?

No wonder I'm not rich.

11 Referencing the mysterious comment #134 that disappeared one day. Ken, did that missing comment count as an object?

12 I suggest we ask the NBA to make a statement regarding the interpretation how object 1,000,000 should be counted, given the disappearance of comment #134.

Then, we can all continue to debate it while the Lakers go on to win game 5 at home and advance to the Finals anyway.

"Should we throw the creator of the 1,000,000th object into a volcano as a sacrifice to the Database Gods?"

No thank thee.

'Tis been a wondrous million...Live long and continue!

12 Yes, comment #134 received object #851,761. However, no such object exists in the database.

Wasn't Ty Cobb or someone else credited with a nonexistent base hit or two, just to win a batting crown?
