Are You Looking At Me?

Navin R. Johnson: The new phone book's here! The new phone book's here!
Harry Hartounian: Boy, I wish I could get that excited about nothing.
Navin R. Johnson: Nothing? Are you kidding? Page 73 - Johnson, Navin R.! I'm somebody now! Millions of people look at this book everyday! This is the kind of spontaneous publicity - your name in print - that makes people. I'm in print! Things are going to start happening to me now.

--The Jerk

I feel a little like Navin R. Johnson at the moment. I just discovered that Google recently sent its Street View car to Alameda, and now when you go to Google Maps, there are pictures of my house, my office, my kids' school...very cool.

OK, here's a picture of Baseball Toaster Headquarters:

Do you see me waving at you? There up on the second floor, behind that fourth window of four on the right? Hi there! But you better move, though; you're stopped right in front of a fire hydrant.

But the picture doesn't show the secret lab where you are creating a line of robots that look like humans and will play for the A's. They will be programmed to show great plate discipline and get injured a lot.

1 That's in a completely different location, far, far away from any Street Views. I'll have a blog post up about that secret lab very soon.

Sweet. Are you walking distance from the Hangar One distillery? Because if you are I may try and go for a double-dip of seeing places where my favorite things are made.

3 I guess that depends on what you consider walking distance. It's probably about a 45 minute walk from Toaster HQ to Hangar One.

BTW, if you're a fan of Mythbusters, you could make it a triple-dip. The place on the "abandoned Naval Air Station" where they blow up a lot of their stuff is across the street from Hangar One. It's fenced off, but you can see it from there.

As a fan of both the Toaster and Mythbusters, I am just about in heaven right now, and thinking of a road trip.

They must touch up these pictures--in the shot of my house, you can't even see the bird poop on my car.
